Nick turns 4 – in Venezia
our flat was in this alley
our ‘water door’, the green one, where we drank morning coffee and ate birthday cake (for breakfast;)
rescuing a sunken boat… huge entertainment
nick woke up with a fever on his birthday:( disappointing in any case but also because he was so looking forward to sharing cookies at school with his friends, and we were excited to go to venice for the first day off Clay has had in weeks (and two in a row, woohoo!). fortunately, after some tylenol and sleeping until 2pm, he seemed his regular self, so we decided last minute to hit the road. it was certainly a fun adventure, and a birthday none of us will soon forget. we arrived late friday night, and left first thing sunday morning, but he had an eventful day on saturday, mostly floating around on various boats. and exploring the market of course – for me, always the highlight. xo
