buffalo: once upon a time there were thousands of buffalo roaming the prairies.  natives elaborately hunted them as a community, working together, not wasting anything.  now it’s a museum.  Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump.  and fyi, it’s name is not in reference to the heads of the falling buffalo.  rather, legend has it that a curious boy wanted to watch the buffalo fall from under the cliff.  they found him under the pile of carcasses with his head smashed in.
